Richard Joseph Trent Sr.

Richard “Dick” Joseph Trent Sr., 85, passed away Thursday, June 3, 2021, at home with his family by his side. At the time of his passing he was in the hearts of those he loved. Born in Kilgore, Texas on October 11, 1935, Dick was the son of Clinton and Ozelle Trent. He served in the United States Air Force for 6 years then relocated in the Florida Panhandle. Mr. Trent had a distinguished career in law enforcement for over 25 years and retired with the city of Crestview as an investigator. He loved fishing, boating, skiing, spending time with his grandchildren and his family. Uncle Dick has a special bond with all of his nieces and nephews, he will be missed dearly. Dick was a loving husband to Sharon (Barberree) Trent for 49 years.
Dick is preceded in death by his parents, Clinton and Ozelle Trent, brothers, Charles Trent, Howard Trent, Tom Trent, Bill Trent, sisters, Marie Brown, Drucilla LaGrone. Dick is survived by his wife, Sharon (Barberree) Trent, son, Rich (Jodi) Trent, three grandchildren, Brittany Trent, Jadyn Trent, Jake Trent, numerous nephews and nieces.
Funeral service will be held Sunday, June 6, 2021, beginning at 3:00 pm, from the Chapel of Brackney Funeral Service, with Pastor Donnie Cadenhead officiating. Burial to follow at Live Oak Park Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, June 6, 2021 from 2:00 – 3:00pm at the funeral home.
