Dalton L. “Doc” Brannon began his life on June 9, 1931, in our beloved State of Alabama
~Roll Tide~ ~Go Noles~
and it ended on June 16, 2021, in our beloved State of Alabama.
He married his beloved wife on June 30, 1951, beginning a new life that lasted for 70 years.
He served his Country proudly going to many remote countries during his 23 ½ years of active duty, doing what he loved best, fighting fire.
After retirement from both active duty with USAF and 20 years employed with the City of Crestview, we began to enjoy life to the fullest by getting to be active in our church, Life Tabernacle in Shoffner City, taking as many of our grandchildren to as many places as they enjoyed which was Papaw’s greatest delight. The children were one of his greatest treasures. Family tradition at Christmas was the most treasured time for us all as Paw Paw sat in his rocking chair with grand and great grands gathered around as he read the Birth of Our Lord Jesus in Luke Chapter 2. He loved the great Smoky Mountains, purchasing a home in our loved quaint town of Franklin, North Carolina.
Time marches on over the span of 70 well lived years and physical conditions take their toll. But today we have thankful hearts of lives well lived and enriched by the love of “All the Children in our lives”.
Dalton is preceded in death by his parents, Willie D. and Mattie Lee Brannon, his daughter, Debra Brannon Friel, his granddaughter, Brittany Brannon Gray, great granddaughter, Emily Steinmeier.
Dalton is survived by his wife, Marion V. (Ginny) Brannon, three sons, Curtis W. Brannon and his wife Carolyn, Brett D. Brannon and his wife Kelly, Len Steinmeier and his wife Jennifer, brother, Wayne Brannon and his wife Nell, grandchildren, Katie Bug, April, Destiny, David and Chelsea, six great grandchildren, Lexi, Aiden, Dalton, Olivia S, Rebecca, Olivia G along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, June 21, 2021, beginning at 2:00 p.m., at Life Tabernacle, 3136 Pinewoods Drive, Crestview Florida 32539, with Pastor Michael Braswell officiating along with the Eulogy given by Roland Jordan. Burial to follow at Live Oak Park Memorial Cemetery in Crestview.
