On March 13, 2025, Timmy Wayne Burlison entered into the arms of Jesus. Born on January 27, 1957, Timmy was a faithful servant of the Lord and a long-time member of Shady Grove Assembly of God in Baker, FL. Timmy loved everyone he met and was quick to offer a helping hand while sharing the gospel with all those blessed to be in his life. He was an avid sportsman who loved hunting and fishing. When he wasn’t enjoying God’s creations you could find him working a vehicle for someone or mowing grass in perfectly aligned rows.
Timmy is proceeded in death by his father, Willie D Burlison.
He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 50 years, Dixie Burlison, his mother, Nellie Burlison, his children Timmy (Chelsea) Burlison and Shaun (Stacy) Burlison, Grandchildren Hannah (Wynn) Rogers, Bayleigh (Damon) Welch, Rylie Burlison (Jacob Johnson), Christopher Burlison (Krista Caro), Brayden Hutcheson, Ashlyn Burlison, Allie Hutcheson, and Bryce Stanley and his great-grandchildren Colt Rogers, Asher Welch and Baby Boy Rogers joining us in June this year.
Timmy is also survived by his brother Daniel (Gloria) Burlison and his sisters Barbara (Jim) Stephens, Linda (Mike) Akins, and Glenda Coley and his brothers-in-Christ, Donald Kearney, Hup Whitehead, and Lloyd Lanier.
A celebration of Timmy’s life will be held at Shady Grove Assembly of God in Baker on Monday, March 17, 2025 with Pastor Phillip Polk officiating. The family will receive visitors at 10:30 am and a memorial service will follow at 11:30 am.

Timmy was such a wonderful man. He was simply salt of the Earth…humble, friendly, so very kind and selfless.
Timmy was also such a wealth of information to any of us behind the wheel of a UPS package car whether we were on road, fueling them, washing them or parking the building. I was blessed enough to have a few funny memories of gleaning his help parking ridiculous line-ups in the building…one in particular involving a floor jack! IYKYK!
He was also a friendly ear for aches of the heart of all kind, with words of wisdom few could extend.
He helped me as my own dad did, literally saving me time, money, worry and aggravation when my vehicle needed attention and when my dad (also an auto technician), was unable to help.
This side of heaven will surely miss him forever.

I met the Burlisons shortly after being diagnosised with ALS. They both have been an incredible blessing to me. My spirit bonded with Timmy immediately when I met him. They were delivering a power wheelchair to me on the day I got out of the hospital after a horrific 6 days. My legs did not work any longer after the hospital stay. They were a life saver to me. I didn’t have a wheelchair and would have had to go into a rehab center otherwise. After that initial visit, I would talk to Timmy a couple times a week. I was in a very bad place mentally with this horrific disease. He was an incredible encourager in the Lord to me and help me to change my mind set toward this disease. I only knew him a very short time but feel like it was much longer. He was and is my brother in Christ and I will miss him and his encouragement immensely! I know without a doubt he is with Jesus and suffering no more. May God bless and keep his entire family and friends in his comforting arms.

I have so many memories of Timmy and Dixie from my earliest years. They were my children’s church teachers many moons ago, and were among the first I can remember telling me about Jesus. Those lessons are among the most important I’ve ever had. And their willingness to invest in children has spurred my lifelong passion of teaching kiddos about Him as well. 30+ years of kidmin and counting, all began with the lessons they taught me. To know “Big Timmy” was to know you were loved- by Jesus, and by him. He had a quick wit and a twinkle in his eye that was unmatched in many men today. Heaven is sweeter. But the loss to his loved ones is immeasurable. You all have my love and my prayers through the days ahead.

I am a better person for having known Timmy almost my whole life. He was one of the best men I’ve ever known. I will never forget working with him, which blessed me, because it gave me a better opportunity to know him better. Unfortunately, life sends friends in different directions after retirement and I regret not staying in contact better. I will surely miss him. Rest in Jesus’ arms old friend.

Dixie and family, my deepest sympathy to all of you. Timmy had the greatest heart and the best smile to all who knew him. I would come off the road at UPS and tell him something was making a noise and where. It was uncanny but he knew what I was talking about and it got fixed. It was little things like that of how he made everything around him so special and it was an honor to have known him.
May he rest in peace with Jesus, God Bless. Denise
