Cecil Costello Donaldson, age 92, passed away Friday, June 13, with his wife by his side. Cecil was born on December 30, 1932 in Coffee County, Alabama to Loskey Dick Donaldson and Lucille Bowdoin Donaldson. A long time resident of Okaloosa County, Cecil dedicated 43 years to his career in law enforcement. He served as a Deputy Sheriff in Okaloosa and Gulf Counties and as Chief of Police in Wewahitchka, Florida. A proud Army veteran, he served during the Korean Conflict, where he was awarded the Korean Service Medal with 1 Bronze Service Star.
Cecil was preceded in death by his first wife Geraldine Donaldson and a son Blake Donaldson
Survivors include his wife of 15 years Carolyn Donaldson
a son Anthony (Tony) Donaldson
a daughter Ann Marie Donaldson
a stepson Larry (Maureen) Burch
a stepdaughter Cathy (Robert) Wenner
1 brother Bernice Junior
1 sister Louise Francis Spikes and many nieces and nephews
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00PM, Tuesday, June 17, from the Chapel of Brackney Funeral Service. Burial will be at the Barrancas National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00PM until 2:00PM, Tuesday, at the funeral home.
