Kenneth Ray Wadsworth, “KR” or “Paw Paw”, age 83, of Milligan, passed away peacefully at home on June 11, 2025, with his beloved wife Sonja Lynn at his side.
A proud Vietnam Veteran, KR worked 56 years on Eglin AFB. He loved his coworkers at C3, and his family knows and appreciates that you all loved him like we do.
KR never met a stranger, and if you knew him, you loved him. He was a humble man and loved to laugh. He would tell us “I was so good at grammar in school that they let me take it three times” and, when faced with a difficult task he would often say, “I’m not a very smart man” but then he would show you just how to do it, right. He knew the value of a plan – “cyphering” he’d call it, but also that there comes a time to “just nail it.” Few could get a hard job done better or faster.
Sweet is the sleep of a laborer. Ecclesiastes 5:6.
With woodworking skills passed down from his daddy Hamp, KR lovingly hand built the house where he raised his family and shared treasured items in homes throughout Baker.
KR loved his family and friends with all of his heart, but especially, he was the most loving Daddy to Mark and Kenya, father-in-law to Charlotte and Shawn and Paw Paw to Dylan, Savannah, Hana, and Aidan, of whom he was so very proud. Unless TDY, he never missed a single game, match, tournament or school event.
While we grieve our earthly loss, we rejoice that Paw Paw is reunited with his Mama Dora and Daddy Hamp and that he is safe in the arms of Jesus. As it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 1 Corinthians: 2:9.
He asked that there be no service as he did not want to cause unnecessary emotional distress. In the midst of our overwhelming sorrow and our inability to comprehend a life without him, we find reassurance in the fact that he is now free from the trials and tribulations of this world.
