Eugene Hart, age 89, of Crestview, met his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 9. Eugene was born on May 16, 1936 in Crestview to William Cortez Hart and Effie Jernigan Hart. A lifelong resident of Crestview, Eugene was a 1953 graduate of Crestview High School. He served honorably in the Florida National Guard and had a long career Civil Service, retiring as the Business Manager at Eglin Hospital. A Baptist by faith, Eugene had committed his life to doing the Lord’s work, he and his wife Voncile, spent many years managing the food bank for Central Baptist Church. Through the Benevolent Vineyard, that was established in 2017, he helped with meeting the needs of those in the community, through benevolence and philanthropic efforts. Eugene enjoyed crossword puzzles, he was an excellent cook and traveled extensively with his wife.
He was preceded in death by his wife Voncile Hart, his parents William Cortez & Effie Hart, an infant son Allen Hart and his brother Dean Hart.
He is survived by his son Richard Hart
2 grandchildren Lee Hart (Libby) & Lacey Nicole Hart; 4 great grandchildren Colby, Blake, Alyssa & Elijah

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, at 1030AM,July 19, from the Chapel of Brackney Funeral Service, with Pete Gibson giving the eulogy.
The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00AM, prior to the service.
