David Wayne Thornton, 62 passed away Monday, October 4, 2021, after a brief illness in Crestview, Fl. David was born on January 20, 1959 to Claude and Betty Duren Thornton in Adel, Georgia. He moved to Okaloosa County in 2012 to be closer to his daughter. He was in the Army reserves for a short time and was a loving Husband, wonderful father, and grandfather. David loved fishing, gardening and spending time with his family.
David was preceded in death by his Mother and Father..Betty Duren Thornton and Claude Thornton.
David is survived by his wife Christina Thornton ( 42 years) and his three children two sons and a daughter. Bobbie Thornton of Gainesville Ga, David Alexander Thornton of Crestview Fl and Brandy Collins of Crestview, FL.
He has a brother and two sisters, Christoopher Thornton of Tupelo MS, Wanda Harnage of Hahira Ga., and Teresa Duggan of Nashville, GA
He has 5 grandchildren and will be sorely missed.
There will be a memorial service for David on October 16, 2021 about 2:00 p.m. in the Adel, Georgia area in the cemetery where his parents are buried.

David was like a Brother to me, a great friend, that I could talk to about driving those 18 wheels over the road . I am deeply saddened to loose such a wonderful friend. My thoughts and Prayers are for Tina my Thornton Family.
