Paul S. Jones, 71, of Baker passed away Thursday, November 17, 2022 at his home. Paul was born on June 19, 1951, in Magee, Mississippi to Henry and Onnie Jones. Paul was raised in the south part of Okaloosa County and was a 1969 graduate of Choctahatchee High School. After high school he attended a tech school in Tampa FL to become an electronic technician. He settled in Baker FL where he worked for the Eglin O&M contract before retiring in 2016. Paul loved serving at Pilgrim Rest Baptist church as a teacher and deacon. During his free time he loved to garden, tinker on various projects around the house, raise chickens — all the while teaching about what he was working on to anyone that would listen.
Paul is survived by his wife, Verda Jones, four children, Thomas Jones, Charles Wesley Powell (Emelia), David Jones (Samantha), Beth Cassady (Adam), three stepchildren, Jay Carter (Mary), Cindy Carter, Ben Carter (Karen), brother, Daniel Jones (Connie), sister, Vicki Hatch and fourteen grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, November 20, 2022, beginning at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Brackney Funeral Service with Pastor Geoff Prows officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 20, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. There will be a private family burial following the service. Verda and family, I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Paul. I know how much he meant to you and the Pilgrim Rest Church family. My thoughts and prayers are with and if there is anything I can do please let me know. I know that he rests in the hands of God.
