FOREST C. BOWLING
September 9, 1927-March 13, 2023
Forest Charles Bowling, 95, of Valparaiso, Florida, went peacefully to be with our Heavenly Father on March 13th, 2023 surrounded by his family. Forest was born September 9th, 1927 and raised on a farm in DeMossville, KY. Forest was the last of 12 siblings, the children of the late Lura and Robert Bowling.
In 1946 Forest joined the United States Air Force serving proudly as an aircraft mechanic. His Air Force career required numerous deployments supporting our country’s wars during that time. The family traveled from Ohio to Japan, South Carolina and the Philippines before he retired in Florida as a Senior Master Sergeant. Forest then worked for a government contractor as an electronics technician. His final retirement was in Valparaiso to enjoy family, fishing, gardening, feeding neighborhood squirrels and cheering on his Dallas Cowboys.
Forest is preceded in death by his devoted wife of 65 years, Alice Bowling, stepson Jack Stacey, Daughter, Jeanne Cooley and son in law, Larry Tipton. Forest is survived by his daughters Deborah Tipton and Patricia Brantley (Jeff), seven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Forest’s strength, intelligence and humorous wit will be greatly missed. He was a man who could fix anything, never met a stranger, loved to talk about his career and was always kind and generous to family and friends.
