Samuel Phil Houston Jr. 84, of Crestview, Florida passed away at home on September 28, 2023. Samuel was born on September 13, 1939, in Mobile, Alabama to Samuel and Myrtle Houston. After graduation in 1957 he joined the United States Army, then he moved to Okaloosa County in 1993 from Slidell, Louisiana. Samuel carried out a family tradition of being an accredited property appraiser, who owned Phil Houston Appraisal Service Inc.
Samuel is preceded in death by a brother, Bill Houston and his parents Samuel and Myrtle Houston.
Samuel is survived by his wife, Janice Marlene (Marty) Houston, his son, Samuel (Sam) Phil Houston III, his daughter, Ashley Houston Decareaux, his brother Henry Jack (Sam) Houston, his sister, Linda Thompson, his grandchildren, Christopher Allen Decareaux, Grace Mary Houston and Samuel Peter Houston.
A gathering of family & friends will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Brackney Funeral Service.
