Leroy Bradley

May 31, 1941~March 27, 2024
Leroy Bradley, whose kindness knew no bounds, passed away peacefully at his home in Baker, Florida, on March 27, 2024, at the age of 82.

Born in Andalusia, Alabama, on May 31, 1941, Leroy’s life was a testament to love, bringing light and joy to everyone fortunate enough to cross his path. He was a standout football player and track star at Carver Hill School where he received a full football scholarship to Edward Waters in Jacksonville, Florida.

In June 1992, he chose Baker, Florida as his home, bringing with him the same spirit of community and generosity that had always defined him, from his early days in Pleasant Home, Alabama.

Leroy cherished the simple pleasures of life, finding peace in fishing, hunting, and tending to his garden. His garden was more than a place for plants to grow; it was where friendships flourished, nurtured by the produce he generously shared.

Professionally, Leroy was a dedicated Texturizer Mechanic at Shaw Industries, where his diligence, expertise, and warm-heartedness left a mark on his colleagues, until he stepped into retirement, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and integrity.

Leroy also served his country with honor and pride in the Army for many years.

He was welcomed into the next life by his parents, Annest Blount and Ellis Bradley; his stepfather, Moses Daniel MD Cobb Sr., his sister, Josephine Bradley, his brother Joseph Bradley, who had preceded him in passing. The family would like to extend gratitude to Felicia Williams, team from Covenant Care and Centerwell Hospice for the immaculate care that he received during his final days.

Leroy’s legacy is carried on through his loving wife, Camilla Jean Bradley, and their four sons: Roderick Lee Bradley (Mittie), Andre Lanoris. Bradley, Leroy Bradley II (Kelechi), and Brandon Scott Bradley. His unwavering dedication to his family ensured that his wife and sons were nurtured, supported in their educational and athletic endeavors, and enveloped in love.

He also leaves behind brothers Daniel Cobb (Hellen), William Bradley, Ellis Bradley Jr and Nathaniel Bradley; a sister, Lauraetta Washington (Hershel); six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and numerous relative and friends who were touched by his gentle spirit.

Leroy’s profound kindness, wisdom, and unconditional love has left a mark on the hearts of all who knew him. As we bid farewell to this remarkable soul, may we find comfort in our cherished memories and peace in knowing that his spirit will continue to guide and inspire us.

Cousin Jean, the Clark/Gray family is so sadden, yet we must rejoice in this moving to higher ground, of a true man of destiny. Through the careful search of our family history, Leroy added to our family’s legacy four beautiful sons that brought value to our heritage. He also touched the lives of many people and helped make a positive difference.

“Time is a companion that goes with us on a journey. It reminds us to cherish each moment, because it will never come again. What we leave behind is not as important as how we have lived.”
You lived it well Leroy, May the Lord of Increase add peace and comfort on your journey.
With all my love and prayers.
