Adelbert James “AJ” DavisNovember 11, 1945 – August 14, 2024It is with great sadness we announce the passing of AJ Davis, our beloved Husband, Dad, Grandad, Great Grandad and Brother.AJ was born in Crestview, FL on November 11, 1945 to Roland and Alvie Davis. He grew up in Crestview and graduated from Crestview High School class of 1964.AJ worked for the Department of Transportation as a Project Engineer and retired after 30 plus years.AJ enjoyed hunting, fishing and Alabama football. His love for hunting dogs began at an early age and continued until his health prevented it.AJ is preceded in death by his Parents, Roland and Alvie Davis and Sister, Minnie Jean Stuckey.AJ is survived by his Wife of 45 years, Elaine Davis, his three Daughters, Leanne Wesley (Johnnie), Ashley Styron (Kenneth) and Megan Davis, his Sister, Joyce Ballard, his Grandchildren, Lauren Strickland (Seth), Clay Kalinowski (Nena), Mason Styron and Alana Davis, his Great Grandchildren, Blakely, Bentley and Barrett Strickland, and Houston Kalinowski, and numerous extended family.A Funeral Services will be held at 12 pm Saturday, August 17th at Brackney Funeral Chapel with Pastor Donnie Cadenhead officiating. The visitation one hour prior to service at 11 am at Brackney Funeral Service Chapel. I had the pleasure of working with and around AJ for many years with the FLDOT. He was a mighty good man whom I admired greatly. I’m sorry I missed his obituary. My wife and I extend our heartfelt sympathy to all his family.
