Frances J. Minton 89, of Crestview, Florida passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. Frances was born on December 30, 1934 in Andalusia, Alabama to Roy W. Blackerby and Ollie Mae Jay Blackerby.
Frances lived in Crestview most of her life, she was a 1952 graduate of Crestview High School, longtime employee of Crestview Memorial Hospital and then worked at North Okaloosa Medical Center working in medical records until she retired. She was a faithful member of Woodlawn Baptist Church teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir, worked in Bible School and served on the church committee.
Frances was very dedicated to Jesus, her church, her children, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. Frances was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
Frances is preceded in death by her husband, David C. Minton and her parents, Roy W Blackerby and Ollie Mae Jay Blackerby.
Frances is survived by her two children, Garry Winstead and wife Terry, Pam Kennedy and husband Dennis, her brother, Randy Blackerby and wife Sonya, her three sisters, Etta Faye Ward, Betty Bray and Mary Dreading, her five grandchildren, her ten great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024 beginning at 3:00 p.m. from The Chapel of Brackney Funeral Service with Pastor Garry Winstead officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 2:00 p.m.- 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

To Brother Garry and Miss Terry, I too know what it’s like to lose a mother…I was blessed to have had Brother Garry officiate my Mom’s funeral in 2018…Just know I have been praying for the whole family…
