Joseph David Hill passed from this life into God’s loving arms on Saturday, January 9, 2021, after a long illness. He is survived by his loving wife and care-giver, Naomi Joyce Hill, two daughters: Brenda Kay Jackson of Altus, OK and Vickie Mae Laick of Brandenburg, KY; two sons: Benjamin Joseph Hill and Bradley Harry Hill of Crestview, FL. He has one deceased son, Steven Michael Hill of Crestview, FL.
Joseph, ‘Joe’, was born on January 22, 1955, in Montgomery, WV and lived his childhood in Ward and Mammoth, WV. After serving in the US Navy, he married Joyce Cottrill, and they lived for 20 years in Walton, WV. Joe retired from the WV Department of Highways where he had worked for over 20 years, and upon retirement, he and his wife moved to Crestview, FL.
While Joe was an avid motorcyclist, his family ad friends will remember him as a staunch disciple of Christ. Wherever he was he proclaimed John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not die but have eternal life. Regardless of faith tradition, Joe knew you as a follower of Christ if John 3:16 was the basis. He loved reading his Bible and listening to The Shepherd’s Chapel. He always declared that he came to know Jesus as his personal Savior when he first saw his son Bradley, even in a Downs Syndrome state, pray and talk to God. He talked many times of various miracles that God had done for him when, he felt all was lost.
A Memorial Service by family and friends will be held at the First Pentecostal Church, Crestview, FL beginning at 1:00 P. M., Saturday, January 16, 2021. Final resting place for Joseph will be beside his son, Steven, at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Crestview, FL. We know, however, that his place now is with the saints in heaven awaiting the resurrection of the body to a perfect union in Christ our Lord.
