Carolyn Brooks Parris, 76, of Crestview, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2026.
Carolyn was born on June 24, 1949, in Elba, Alabama, to Woodrow Wilson Brooks and Essie Mae Walker Brooks. She moved to the Crestview area in 1978 from Opp, Alabama, and made this community her forever home.
A devoted homemaker, Carolyn’s life was centered around her family. She loved her children and grandchildren with her whole heart and found her greatest joy in the time spent with them. She was a faithful member of Victorious Life Church and will be remembered for her strong spirit, her sense of humor, and her ability to make others feel welcome and loved.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Michelle Bowen; her grandson, Preston Medley; her brothers, Jack, Harold, and Johnny Mack Brooks; her sisters, Peggy and Mary Creel; and her brother-in-law, Robert Cox.
She is survived by her loving sons, Stacey McDonald (Ashley), Greg McDonald (Cendy), Steven McDonald (Joyce), Shawn McDonald (Kim), and Jason McDonald (Sarah); her bonus daughter, Joyce McDonald; her sisters, Sandra Raybon (Norman) and Deloris Cox; sister-in-law, Clara Brooks; nineteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will cherish her memory.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Victorious Life Worship Center with Pastor Donnie Cadenhead and Pastor Jonathan Griffith officiating. Burial will follow at Live Oak Park Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Victorious Life Worship Center.
