With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, sister, and grandmother. Carolyn Sue Martin, 73, of Crestview, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on January 14, 2026.
Born July 18, 1952, in Crestview, FL, Carolyn was the daughter of Charlie Frank Norville, Jr. and Syble Lucile Barrow. Her family moved to Crestview during her childhood, and she remained in Crestview for the rest of her years.
Carolyn worked as a machine operator for Russell Mills for many years before she was medically retired.
Above all things Carolyn loved and cherished her family and friends. She adored her grandchildren, spending countless hours pouring her heart and soul into them. She was the most beautiful and loving mother. She gave selflessly and loved unconditionally. We are forever grateful that God gave us to her.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, James Carlton “Cody” Martin; parents Charlie Frank, Jr. and Syble Norville; her brothers Larry (Shelby) Norville; and her sister, Brenda Sykes. Brother-in-laws, Charles Ray Martin, Carson Martin, Michael Martin, and Bobby Kelley; sister-in-law Arlene Chilton; Nephew, Tony Sykes; Nieces, Ashley Lindsey and Hailey Thale.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Toni (Jody) Helms, Tammy (Brian) Shepheard, Kyle (Kristen) Martin, Jeremy Martin (Sara Ferguson) her brothers, Alvin (Vickii) Norville, Butch (Mary) Norville, her sisters, Diane (Robert) Hutchinson, Frances (Mike) Dugas; her brothers-in-law, Carlos and Mitchell Martin; her sisters-in-law, Nadine Smith, Rhonda (David) Walker; her grandchildren Shawna (Travis) Barnhill, Grace, Cody and Ainsley Helms; Sean (Mallory) Shepheard, Sydney Shepheard (Kaleb Ferguson); Calista Martin (Keven Beck) , Christopher and Kylie Martin; Breanna Martin (Jahlein Mays), Skyler Martin, Isaiah (Rachel) Martin; Kaelin, Jeremy Kylan and Laynee Martin; Christopher and Bentley Tejo; Cheala Martin, Jeremy “Bubs”, and Landon Johnson; her 19 great-grandchildren and 2 on the way; as well as a great number of, nieces, nephews, extended family, and lifelong friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Brackney Funeral Home, on January 16, 2026 beginning at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Mike Braswell officiating.
