In the care of

Daniel F. Morse, 62, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, peacefully at home with his loving family at his side.
Daniel was born on May 29, 1963, in Vincennes, Indiana to Robert Vieke and Stella Brown. He moved to Destin, Florida in 1968, where he grew up during a time when the area was still quiet, undeveloped, and full of natural beauty. He often shared stories about those early days and the simple life he experienced there, which he always held close to his heart.
Daniel worked in retail for many years, including with Winn-Dixie and Target. He was known for his strong work ethic and the pride he took in everything he did. In his free time, Daniel enjoyed working in the yard, especially planting azaleas and dogwood trees, and could often be found detailing his car with a beer in hand, taking simple joy in life’s moments.
Above all, Daniel was a devoted family man. He took great pride in caring for his loved ones and dedicated his life to ensuring everyone around him felt included, supported, and loved. His storytelling, laughter, and unwavering presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Daniel is preceded in death by his mother and adopted father, Stella and Donald Morse, and his father, Robert “Bob” Vieke.
Daniel is survived by his loving wife, Penny Lynn Nelms Morse; his son, Robert D. “Robbie” Morse (Ryshella Lee “Shell”); his daughter, Brittany S. Parsons (Chris); his brother, Bill Dale; his sister, Debra Rushing (Bruce); and seven grandchildren.
Daniel will be remembered for his kind heart, his love for his family, and the countless memories he created with those he held dear. His legacy of love and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
