In Loving Memory Of
Quinton Winfred Beck
May 25, 1942 -
November 3, 2026
In the care of
Brackney Funeral Service
Quinton Winfred Beck moved to Heaven on November 3, 2026, after a long battle with Alzheimer's dementia. He was born in Covington County, Alabama, on May 25, 1942, to Ernest Terry and Nancy Christian Garvin Beck.
They moved to Escambia Farms, Florida, shortly thereafter where Quinton lived with his 3 brothers and 3 sisters, aunts and uncles and cousins in a tight knit community. He learned to work hard and never give up as he and his family worked collecting turpentine, working the fields and garden and maintaining their land.
Quinton worked many jobs starting at the age of 16, eventually going to work at Eglin AFB in 1959 for a housing area contractor, learning every skill related to maintenance and much more. He often said he was a jack of all trades and master of none. But he could be relied on to help out neighbors, friends and strangers whenever called upon. Everyone whoever worked with him respected him for his knowledge, hard work and willingness to get down in the dirt with them, even when he was Vice President of the company.
His longest employment was with Robert W. Temple, contractor, at Eglin, working there until 1985. He then worked at Okaloosa County Road Department/Water and Sewer Department until he retired in 2008 (49 years in the labor force!) He worked an additional 20 years at Eglin AFB while also working with the County—a hardworking man for sure.
He enjoyed his retirement by working in his garden after he and Linda moved to Crestview from Niceville where they lived for 40 years.
Quinton and Linda were married in Andalusia, Alabama, December 30, 1967, and were blessed with two wonderful children.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Linda Jones Beck, daughter Tamara Michelle Beck Mabe and her husband Gary, his son David Christian Beck, grandchildren Brittany Michelle Mabe Colonna, Ashley Parker Beck, great-grandchildren Kaydence Victoria Agerton, Tristan Noah Albertini and Hunter Dale Colonna, his sister and brother, Vivian Beck Lee and Theron Leon Beck, and Bonus Family, Dr. David Carstens and his wife Angela along with their two children, D. J. and Jackson and Brian and Anne Carstens and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was so very loved by all of his family who always went to him for advice and help. He could always be relied upon to help anyone in need including his church, Joy Fellowship, where he helped maintain the building, served as greeter and donated his time in whatever capacity was needed.
He will be missed by all who loved him, but we know he is in Heaven with his Heavenly Father, probably tending His garden!
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2026 beginning at 2:00 pm at Joy Fellowship Church.
