Robert Hicks Sr, age 87, of Holt Florida went home to be with the Lord on May 26, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born January 23rd 1939 Robert lived a life of faith and love he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather, brother and friend. He never met a stranger, his home will forever be filled with laughter love and the Cherished Memories he left behind.
Robert loved the Lord and his family but he also enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and being a mechanic. He loved sharing time with family and friends, he always offered advice a warm smile and a strong guiding presence.
Anyone who knew Robert was caught up in his humor and love. He was quick to lend a hand or advice, his smile was infectious, He had a way to make you feel good, his love for his family extended to anyone that crossed his threshold.
Robert was proceeded in death by his parents Marvin Hicks and Ruth Townsend brother Buddy, son Robert Hicks Jr, grandson Matthew Chadwell, and his beloved wife of 50 plus years Edith.
He is survived by his two sisters Kathy Hoyle of Denver Colorado, Anita Carter of Magnolia Texas, four daughters Martha Carroll and Darlene Brown of Holt Florida, Jenny Miller of Lewisburg North Carolina, and Pam Hicks of West Virginia. Nine grandchildren Samantha and Jacob Hollock, Richard Beck, Carol Beck, of Holt Florida, Robert Beck Pace Florida, Christopher and Jackie Beck Defuniak Springs Florida, 19 great-grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, and many beloved nieces nephews cousins and dear friends.
Although the family and friends will mourn his loss they have peace knowing he is reunited with loved ones in heaven. The legacy he leaves behind will continue in the hearts of those he touched along the way.
A funeral service will be held at Harold Assembly of God on June 27th 2026 at 1:00pm. A reception will follow service at the church.
