Brenda Gayle Hughes Cain, 75, of Newnan, GA, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 25, 2022. Brenda was born in San Antonio, TX on September 28, 1946, but lived most of her life growing up in Geneva, AL, then raising her children in Crestview, FL before living her later years in Newnan, GA. Brenda worked as a nurse, spending many years working at North Okaloosa Medical Center and Sacred Heart Medical in Crestview. Brenda was a friend to so many; and all that knew her, loved and respected her for her beautiful and kind soul, and her loving, caring, and compassion. Brenda loved her children and dedicated her life to their care and well-being.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Ulman Ray and Addie Bess Hughes of Lockhart, AL, an infant sister, Mary Beth Hughes, brothers, Ray “Butch” Hughes, of Ft. Walton Bch, FL, James “Jimmy” Hughes of Florala, AL, her husband, George L. Cain, Sr. of Crestview, FL, and her son, George L. “Jody” Cain, Jr, of Navarre, FL.
Brenda is survived by her son, Jonathan Miles Cain, of Chicago, IL, her daughter Amy Elizabeth Cain Ryals and son-in-law, Brent Ryals of Newnan, GA, her bonus daughter, Pam Cain Calhoun and her husband, Bobby Calhoun, of Geneva, AL, grandchildren, Erika Kitchens and husband Jake Kitchens, of Alpharetta, GA, Madison Cain, of Baker, FL, Isabella “Izzy” Cain, of Baker, FL, and Addie Cain, of Chicago, IL, two great-grandchildren, Ezra and Nash Kitchens of Alpharetta, GA.

God bless the Cain family….We saw Mrs. Cain work man years with a smile at the North Okaloosa Medical Center…No matter who you were she took time to speak to you. “Jody” Lord bless his soul was friends with my brothers–Stanley, Eric & me. (Malcolm) “The Parker family” She was wonder lady to my parents when they in & out of Medical Center. (Too so many other also)

Amy, Johnathan, so very sorry to hear of Brendas passing. I remember lot of good times and bad times with her. She loved her family, and her job. She was a beautiful lady both inside and out. Always remember she loved her children.

Good bye my sister. I will miss our daily conversation by phone and all the times we spent together. The many hours we worked together at the NOMC and the clinic. All the laughs and tears are gone now but your memory will always be with me.

Amy, I’m so sorry to hear about your mom passing. I just heard tonight, or I would have gone to her funeral. She was truly a sweetheart. We talked a lot when we all lived at Quinta Villa.
