Brenda Bost Joiner Wooten, age 71, of Baker FL, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 after an extended illness. She is survived by her husband of 17 years, Roy Wooten, also of Baker, FL.
Born on February 27, 1950, Brenda was the daughter of the late Charles Preston Bost and surviving Mother Lillie Lorene Bost of Statesville, NC. She graduated from Crestview Senior High School in 1968 and attended Massey Draughon Business College afterwards. Her career included working for the Okaloosa County school board and as a paralegal for a local attorney.
Brenda is also survived by her sister Cathy Bost Sonneville of Statesville NC and preceded in death by her brother Charles Eugene Bost (Mary) also of Statesville NC. She was a loving mother to Lara Joiner, of Santa Rosa Beach and Randall Joiner of Baker, FL. Along with her stepchildren, (Beverly Kennedy, Steve Wooten, Suzy Akins, Chris Wooten, Jonathan Wooten and the late Danny Wooten)
Brenda was a blessed grandmother whose grandchildren are left to cherish her memory, Mat Ribeiro, Bryson Ribeiro, Josef Joiner and Alexis Joiner.
She was a very gentle and mild natured person who loved to be surrounded by family and close friends and spent most of her time at home.
Brenda loved to cook meals and bake for her loved ones. Her famous pecan pies and pound cake were always in demand. She also loved to sew. She used to make clothes for her kids and even made her own wedding dress. She thrived as a homemaker.
Her funeral arrangements are as follows.
Funeral service will be held Sunday, October 31, 2021, beginning at 2:00 p.m., from the Chapel of Brackney Funeral Service, with Chaplain Larry Carter officiating. Burial to follow at Aubrey Jordan Memorial Garden Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 31st from 1:00 pm – 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
