Callie Inez Adams, age 89, of Crestview, Florida, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, June 25, 2023, peacefully at home. Callie was born on September 30, 1933, to Mayfield and Emma Henderson in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. She was the youngest of three surviving children (along with sisters Geraldine and Ruth) who were orphaned at an early age. A few years later, she met Herbert Adams, and they married in 1950. Herb and Callie were married over 53 years and raised three children together. Callie worked as a customer service representative for Centel until a chronic health condition forced her into early retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Crestview and was a life-long lover of music.
Callie is preceded in death by parents Mayfield and Emma Marshall Henderson; husband Herbert Adams; sisters Geraldine Henderson Garner and Ruth Henderson Sutcliffe; and brother Thad Henderson. She is survived by daughter Lynn Adams (Bob) Martin; sons Larry (Celia) Adams and Jerry (Sue Jones) Adams; eight grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 29, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Brackney Funeral Service. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2023, beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Brackney Funeral Service with special speaker Joseph Adams and Pastor Jerry Nelson officiating. Aunt Callie was a special lady. I remember how calm she was, yet sharp witted. She always had a kind word that would make me feel important to her, even though we weren’t able to visit often. The world needs more Callie’s in it. My sympathies to the Family, and regrets that I’m not able to be at the funeral.

Mrs Callie became friends with my mother, Gladys, while living at Eden. They shared a table in the dining room. She was a very sweet lady and I enjoyed getting to know her. Prayers for her family.
