Carmelynn “C.J.” Jean Sirois, 53 of Crestview, passed away Saturday, August 21, 2021, at home with her family at her side. C.J. was born August 29, 1967, in Lakewood, Washington and moved to Okaloosa County in her youth and then graduated at Crestview High School Class of 1985. She enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1988 to serve our country until 1992 with an honorable discharge. C.J. enjoyed meeting new people and what a better place to do that none other than the Waffle House.  She worked at Waffle House for 17 years along with the Okaloosa County School Board for 6 years. C.J. was a people person everyone she met they were instantly friends. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends along with her best friend of 13 years DeShawnna. Her hobbies were diamond art, card games, poker and crochet blankets. C.J. loved the Seattle Seahawks almost as much as she loved giving to others and being there for them for whatever they needed.

C.J. is preceded in death by her father Steve Sampson.

C.J. is survived by her mother Darlene Josey, step-dad Ronnie Josey, step-mom Darlene Sampson, three daughters, Diane Kelly (Jon) Butler, Brianna Lorraine Marie (Daryl) Slate, Kayla Michelle Martinez, four brothers, Steve Sampson Jr., Donnie and Larry Josey, Shane Sampson, two sisters, Sherene Sampson and Ashley Kaye, grandchildren, Winter, Holly, Gavin & Asher Butler; Jeremiah & Elijah Gasque-Martinez, Gabriella Martinez, three nephews, Taylor & Riley Josey and one niece.

A celebration of life for Carmelynn “C.J.” Sirois will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021, beginning at Noon at Airport Road Church of Christ Crestview Florida, with Pastor Mark Dilman officiating.

I first met CJ at Waffle House. She was my favorite server. Then she became my roommate for a few years. We have drank many cups of coffee together. We have many memories together. I’m so sad to have lost her soo young. She will forever be in my thoughts! I love you CJ!
