Charles Thomas (Tommy) Gordon, 77, of Baker, Florida, passed away on January 15, 2025.
Tommy was born in Frederick, Maryland, on July 18, 1947. His family moved to Tampa, Florida when he was three. He moved to Baker from Lutz, Florida, in 2016. He served his country in Vietnam with the First Cavalry, First Armored Division of the U.S. Army. He was awarded multiple Purple Hearts, a Bronze Star, plus additional commendations and awards. Tommy was a hard worker and a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a quiet, caring man, and a steadfast friend. His love and support for his family and friends was only exceeded by his patience with nearly all things. He worked as a heavy machinery mechanic for many years.
Tommy enjoyed attending and watching NASCAR races and his children’s and grandchildren’s activities. Earlier in life, he also enjoyed drag racing as a part of the Fire Ballers in Tampa, Florida.
Tommy is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Betty Gordon; his brother, Bret Gordon; and his in-laws, David and Zorah Cold.
He is survived by his wife, Gayle; his children, Drew (Victoria) Hurley and Ann-Marie Gordon; and two grandchildren, Olivia (Josh) Prather and Stella (Blake Lawson) Hurley; and his brother, Donald (Cindy) Gordon II; his sister-in-law, Theresa (Chester) Hewitt; and nieces and nephews; and dear friends Tom and Karen Davis. Donations in Tommy’s honor may be made to the Crestview Area Shelter for the Homeless, 120 Duggan Avenue, Crestview, FL 32536.
A private family graveside service will be held soon in Lutz, Florida.

Gayle, so very sorry to hear of Tommy’s passing. Dick and I were so happy to have known him. So many joyful memories are recalled when we think of you both. I lost Dick a year and a half ago. The beautiful memories he and I made in our time together are healing. I hope it is the same for you My condolences to you and your family.

Gayle,
God will comfort you as you mourn. I know Jesus is in your heart, as attested to by the angel ornament you gave me.
It reminds me of your devotion to our Lord.
