Dean Galloway

September 06, 1945~August 20, 2024

Dean Galloway, 78, of Holt, FL passed away on August 20, 2024.

Visitation will be held at Shady Grove Church in Baker on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor David Harlson officiating.

Dean was born in Holt, FL to Carney Harlson and Lee Glass on September, 6 1945.  She was a business owner and barber for over fifty years. In addition to her work she led a very active lifestyle, enjoyed many hobbies, and had strong Christian values. She truly enjoyed sharing these values in the children’s ministry as part of the Brownsville Revival Assembly of God alongside her husband of 34 years Rusty Galloway. She also sang in the choir for the church. Dean enjoyed many different hobbies such as baking bread, walks on the beach, staining-glass, gardening, growing orchids, and even basket-weaving just to name a few. Although Dean exercised every day, fitness wasn’t just a hobby, it was a way of life, and a passion that led to many trophies and awards for bodybuilding and triathlons. However, before she could compete in a single triathlon she had to overcome her own fear of swimming, which she did by teaching herself at 38 years old. This rare type of bravery remained with Dean until the final days of her life.

She is survived by her husband Rusty Galloway, daughter Wendy Watson (Mark), two granddaughters Haley Neville and Ashley Fox, grandson Kaleb Neville, and several great grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews. Dean was preceded in death by her parents Carney Harlson and Lee Glass, brother Stanley, and sisters Hazel, Mavis Jean, Susie, and Bonnie.
