Elsie Smith Brown Obituary

May 29, 1942 – March 15, 2015

Elsie Smith Brown was born in Okaloosa county, Florida on May 29, 1942 and passed away on March 15, 2025 at the age of 82. Elsie made her home in Okaloosa county most of her life before moving to central Florida in the mid 2000s and subsequently to Tennessee in 2017. While living in central Florida she enjoyed working at retirement communities and brightened the days of everyone living there. While in Tennessee she cared for her great grandchildren, Piper and River and was especially close to River. She will be greatly missed.

Elsie is proceeded in death by her husband, Paul Brown, her son, Edward Duane Smith and her grandson, Jeremy Smith.

Elsie is survived by her daughter, Tammy Mobley (Steve) and son, Paul Smith (Pam), 5 grandchildren – Morgan Goodin, Skyler Hilton, Joshua Westberry, Grace Smith and Gabe Smith and 6 great grandchildren, Arrayah Goodin, McKinley Hilton, Emerson Hilton, Charlotte (Charlie) Fichera, Piper Mobley and River Mobley. The family would like to thank Mount Pleasant Health and Rehabilitation and Gentiva Hospice of Columbia Tennessee for the wonderful, compassionate and loving care given in the final months of her life.

Funeral services will be held at Brackney Funeral Service Chapel on Monday, April 7, 2025 beginning at 1:00 p.m. with visitation on Monday, April 7, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
