Ethel was born on October 22, 1937, at home in Penny Creek, Florida to Willie and Hattie Elizabeth Gilmore. Ethel was a 1957 Graduate of Baker High School, where she was the salutatorian and a proud member of the FHA at Baker High School.

After graduation, Ethel started working on Eglin and later at First Federal here in Crestview. Ethel married Reverend Gerald D. Ethel was a dedicated employee of Okaloosa County School Board as an elementary teacher for her career. As a teacher, she encouraged young children in such remarkable ways that later as adults they would witness to her about her positive influence in their lives.

A precious sweet woman who loved the Lord with all her heart! To witness the love she and her husband shared was an absolute testimony in the bond of true love! Any time I visited with Ethel and Herm in Baker or Miramar Beach I would find Ethel sitting holding hands with Herm while they sat watching old time television programs together. What a blessing to share a small portion of the love they shared together! Ethel you were a blessing to all who knew you! I am certain that the Lord received you in heaven proclaiming, “Well done my good and faithful child”. Your grace lives on within your precious daughter, Sheri. Rest in peace sweet soul. Condolences to the Kranzer & Garrett Family as you heal and process this great loss. Kindly, Becky, Barry & Linen Dixon, Ocala, FL

To the family of Ethel Kranzer:
My wife and I have just learned of Ethel’s passing. We are out of town and unable to attend the funeral.
My family has known Ethel all our lives. She was always so kind and positive. No matter when or where I met with her, I always left feeling better because of Ethel. I never heard her say an unkind or negative thing about anyone. Though, I didn’t see Ethel often, I will miss her terribly. A large part of Milligan is now gone.
