Gary Bass

Gary Bass passed away unexpectedly on January 12, 2025, at the age of 72 in his sleep at his home in Mossy Head, Florida.

Gary was born on April 1, 1952 in Melbourne, Florida to John and Annie Bass.

Gary was a hardworking man loving his career in auto parts with Taylor Parts and Carquest (as they switched to Advanced) where he worked until his passing. He greatly enjoyed the people and stores he spent years with.

Gary has also been a school bus driver for Walton County School District for the past 13 years.

Gary moved from Fort Walton Beach to Mossy Head with his wife Susan Bass. Gary and Susan had been married for 28 years sharing many happy times with family and friends. His love of family was unmeasurable, children, grandchildren and great grand kids!!

Gary was well-known man for his selflessness, compassion, honesty, integrity, and his willingness to help others. He was always ready to give a helping hand to anybody in need.

Gary was welcomed into heaven with open arms by his mother (Annie Pearl Carnley) his father (John Thomas Bass) and his brother (Phillip Bass) alongside all of his friends that had went before him.

Gary is lovingly remembered by his large family, his wife (Susan Bass), his brother John Bass, his sisters Diane (Jeff) and Shelia (Bob), his sons, Gary (Tracy) and Matthew, step daughters Dionna (Phil), Julie (Casey), and Misty. His grandchildren, Tyler, Shelby, Taylor, Colby, Kiersten, Gage, Olivia, Alana, Mia, Cierra, Andrew, Kayleigh, Brianna, and Rylan. Great Grandbabies who he loved dearly Mason, Easton, Wrenlee, Willow, Henry, Carman and Millie.
