Glenda Marie Harding

September 27, 1948~September 22, 2024

Glenda Marie Harding, 75, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at her peaceful home in the woods near Yellow River in Okaloosa County.  Glenda was born on September 27, 1948, in DeFuniak Springs, FL to Benjamin and Margie Dreading.

In 1969, Glenda married Skip Harding in Trenton, NJ, starting an amazing 55-year journey together.  In 1970 they moved to Okaloosa County and settled down in Baker, FL in 1977.

Glenda raised two wonderful children before beginning a fulfilling career in home health; she lived for helping others.  Her heart was bigger than she was, and she lived that way every day.  She gave the greatest gift anyone could ever give…a love for Jesus.  Glenda fought the good fight, she finished the race, she kept the faith and there is a crown of righteousness awaiting her that Jesus will award her on the appointed day.

Glenda is preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Margie Dreading.

Glenda is survived by her husband, Skip; her daughter, Anna and husband, Ludwig Harlson; her son, Matt and wife, Shelly; her three grandchildren, Aidan, Brendan, and Olivia; and two sisters, Phyllis Dreading and Patsy Cooke.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 beginning at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Brackney Funeral Service.

To Glenda‘s beloved family, children and grandchildren; our prayers are with you. May Abba father give you peace and strength at this time.

Glenda immersed herself in her Bible every day and bathed in the word of God, she had an undeniable love for Jesus and praised his holy name! Glenda would send me something every day via text or email, a video teaching, a Bible verse or photo, to brighten, encourage and to give me hope in the Lord. Glenda loved sitting on her back porch each morning eagerly waiting for the sun to rise, giving praise to God.

In 2020 we formed a small prayer group. We met in person or on the phone every Tuesday at 10:30. We prayed for our families, our friends and our country. It was an intimate time that we shared together, bearing our hearts and souls before the Lord, laying our petitions at his feet. You really get to know someone when you pray with them and for them. This is how I know Glenda loved her family deeply and each of you held a special place in her heart.

Glenda was a loyal friend, she was my sister in Christ, and even though I share her faith in God and I look forward to the return of his son Christ Jesus, my heart is utterly broken, I miss her dearly, and I eagerly look forward to the return of Christ so I can see her again, until then I will miss you Shug!
