James Stephens Allen (Steve)
Steve Allen of Escambia Farms, Florida went to his heavenly home on January
8, 2025 after a brief illness. Steve was born in Andalusia, Alabama on August
29, 1955. He was serving as pastor of Magnolia Baptist Church in Laurel Hill,
Florida after retiring from the Okaloosa County Board of County
Commissioners working in small engine repair and grounds maintenance.
Steve was always a good provider for his family and would take on any job to
do so. While in high school he bagged groceries at the Piggly Wiggly in
Crestview. He worked for several propane gas companies over the years as a
delivery man, then as manager. He worked with his family in the movie theater
business for many years, residing in Georgia, Alabama and Oklahoma. He felt
called into the ministry of sharing God’s Word in the mid-eighties and has
served in several churches since.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Huey and Barbara Allen.
Survivors include his wife of almost 48 years, Susie Aughtman Allen.
His son, Greg Allen and his wife Kirsten and their son Jude from Crestview.
And his son Tim Allen from Charlotte, North Carolina.
His brothers Ray Allen and Jerry Allen and his sister Ann (David) McLeod.
Many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends have always been a

Steve was always a blessing to be around. I can’t remember ever seeing him without a smile on his face. My heart breaks for you Susie because there is no loss like that of your spouse.
