Jerolene Henry was born on March 25, 1947, in Crestview, FL. To the late John Allen Gage, and Annie Lou Gage.   She was married to the love of her life, Morris Douglas Henry, on September 19th, 1969.  She graduated Valedictorian of Carver Hill High School in 1964.  She received her AA degree from OWJC, presently known as NWFSC in 1967.  She was the first African American to graduate from there. She retired from Centel after working 33 years.  She loved to cook and bake cakes.  She also enjoyed watching Jeopardy and completing different types of word puzzles. She was quiet, however, was a nice selfless person.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Nathaniel James, Charles Gage, and Donald Ray Gage.

She leaves to cherish her memories of husband, Morris “Doug” Henry, children, Melanie Dawn Henry, Mia DeAnn Henry, and Michael Douglas Henry, all of Crestview, FL. Five grandchildren, Montavius, Montesha, Charmaine, Mikela, and Kiyani.  Three step-grandchildren, Elijah, Amaris, and Xavier. She had eleven great-grandchildren. Three sisters, Rosa Wright, Vivian Gage-Bailey (Earl Bailey), and Wanda Gage (Rick Hutchinson), all of Crestview.

Five sister-in-laws, Mildred Smalls (Joe Smalls), brother-in-law, Minnie Pearl Henry, Mary Kay Gage, Phyllis Gage, and Vivian Elaine Henry.

Two brothers in laws, Willie Ray Henry (Vivian Henry), sister-in-law, James “Dobie” Henry, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Appreciation

The family of the late Jerolene Henry express our sincere thanks and appreciation for all the kind deeds, food, flowers, cards, words of condolence, and especially the love shown following the passing of our loved one.  May God continue to bless you all.

A celebration of Jerolene’s life will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025 beginning at 11:00 a.m. from The Chapel of Brackney Funeral Service with Pastor Bryan Lewis officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 12, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

My sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to all of Mrs. Henry’s family and friends. Mrs. Henry is a perfect example of a humble person. She was a very positive influence and I’m blessed to have had the privilege of knowing her from my own childhood to adulthood. May God grant comfort and strength in this time of need for all family and friends.
