James Joseph Knudsen, Jr.
The Lord called home a great man, a husband, father, best friend, brother, someone who lifted and inspired so many. Through the years, not just in the past week we would receive many a thank you, for the opportunities he gifted, for the hope he delivered, for the strength and understanding he gave to many.
He left a huge mark, and legacy on this earth, he changed lives with his constant words of encouragement and life lessons. He was smart, witty, sarcastic, loving, handsome, funny and generous.
Jim was the publisher of this very newspaper you read today started as the Crestview News Leader, a publisher for 30 years, a car salesman and an amazing wood worker.
There was nothing he couldn’t tackle, no obstacle he couldn’t overcome, he was a fighter, and nothing could stand in his way. He is survived by his wife Jennifer Knudsen, his sons Nicholas, and Ryker Knudsen, Steven DelPozo, his daughters Jamie Correl and Vanessa Chromi. His grandchildren, Shayla, and Daylen Kendall, Kendrick, and Ava’lyn Miller, Kaydence and Tanner Del Pozo and Weston Garlo.
His sisters Karolyn, Patricia, and Kris, to many nieces, and nephews to count.
His loving parents James and Patricia Knudsen were waiting to greet him in heaven along with his sons, Michael and Ryan Knudsen, his sisters Kathy, Jensina and Linda, and niece Lauren. May we always remember him for his tenacity, grit, smart wit, and the love he gave out so freely to many.
A celebration of life for Jim will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Brackney Funeral Service with Pastor Jerry Nelson officiating.

I love you Uncle Jim. I’m glad your suffering is over and you are now reunited with your boys and the rest of our family who has passed. My earliest memories of you were when you took your boys and myself fishing, so whenever I’m out on the water, I’ll be thinking of you. Xoxo.

I worked for Jim for several years at the News Bulletin. He was a man who knew how to build a team! We worked hard, had fun, and gave the Northwest Florida Daily News some competition for a pretty good while!
One thing I loved about working for Jim is he would hire anyone, no matter their age or color, and let their work speak for them. I applied for a job as an inserter, and after seeing my resume, he hired me as a proofreader and typist instead, which was a blessing for me (and those inserters as well, believe me)! I love to read, proofread, type, and assist my coworkers, and I got to do what I love for several years instead of just making a living, thanks to Jim! I really appreciated that.
I am so sorry for your loss. God bless and be with you all!

My thoughts and prayers for his family. Such a great guy. When my uncle Johhy B. Osborne had surgery for a brain tumor he called Ollie. Jim came to the hospital He sat there and told us jokes. He seen how worried we were and made us laugh. He was as worried as we were . My nephew Tye worked for him at the Crestview News Bulletin. He was a great inspiration to all of us Say hi to Anne and Unkie for me.
