Jimmy “Jim Bo” Slay 63, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2024. Jim Bo was born on August 16, 1960 in DeFuniak Springs, Florida to Earl Douglas Slay and Zelma Lee Carroll and was raised in Leonia, Florida. Jim Bo was a 1978 graduate of Ponce De Leon High School and pursued a career in pulpwood/logging. He owned and operated his own dump truck and really enjoyed being outdoors whether it was hunting or fishing.
Jim Bo is preceded in death by his parents, Earl Douglas Slay and Zelma Lee Carroll-Slay his sisters, Earlene Carter & Marylou Carroll and his brother, Earl (Buddy) Slay.
Jim Bo is survived by his special friend, Bernice McKee, his two sons, Bobby (Callie Gaillard) Slay and Dustin (Shelby) Slay, his daughter, Jamie Slay, his three brothers, Furlon “Skeet” (Carolyn) Slay, Ronnie (Melissa Clark) Slay and Bud Slay, his sister, Wedell (Robert) Pollard and his seven grandchildren, Hunter Slay, McKenna Knowles, Logan Slay, Travis Lundy, Hayden Slay, Lucy Slay and Mia Slay.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 beginning at 4:00 p.m. at Leonia Cemetery, 1124 Gillman Road, Westville, Florida 32464 with Pastor Rob Jones officiating.
