Jimmy Joel Gaillard, 68 of Holt passed away on Sunday July 11, 2021. Mr. Gaillard was born January 11, 1953, in Greenville, South Carolina and lived in Okaloosa County to be a longtime resident.
Jimmy enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1970, where he received the National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal along with getting the recognition of being an M-16 Expert. After an honorable discharge leaving the military, Jimmy went on to working for White Wilson Medical Center where he retired after 35 years.
Jimmy had a passion for living the country life especially fishing and hunting. His big heart will be surely missed by his family and friends. His charm and giving nature when he would do things for others; expecting nothing in return never went unnoticed. Jimmy loved his grandkids; his face would light up every time they where close.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his wife Marcia Gaillard, son, Scott Gaillard, his parents, W. Steele and Ruby Gaillard, Sister and brother-in-law Herman & Judy Barrow.
Jimmy is survived by his daughter Callie (Bobby Slay) Gaillard, Kym (Gary) Johnson brother, Douglas (Penny) Gaillard of Tennessee, Martin (Teresa) Gaillard of Crestview, sister, Lynn Nichols of Texas, grandchildren, McKenna Knowles & Travis Lundy, Jaylah Johnson, four nieces, Kristeena Ashby, Jeanie (Don) Smith, Shawnaree (Gary P) Smith, Dawn Mann, Three Nephews, Dean (Lou) Barrow, Jeremy Nichols, David (Erin) Gaillard, along with numerous great and great great nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held Friday July 23, 2021, beginning at 11am, Graveside at Old Bethel Cemetery on Old Bethel Road in Crestview Florida.

I lived by Jimmy when we were children! He was always a friend to me and very kind to me! I knew him all my life ! Rest In Peace my friend you will be missed.

Knew Jimmy when my dad first moved to Crestview in 77. My dad worked with him and spoke highly of Jimmy.
I was floored when I saw Jimmy behind the desk at the clinic.
Jimmy was a good man with a good heart. Prayers for his family.
