Joan Frances Behnke, 87, of Crestview, Florida, passed away

peacefully at home on February 28, 2025. Born on May 22, 1937, in

Tulare, California, Joan was the daughter of Frank and Cleone Perry.

Joan was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and

great-grandmother. She shared 65 wonderful years of marriage with her

late husband, Richard Behnke, building a life filled with love and

faith. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard, their son

Donald Behnke, and her brother James Perry.

She is survived by her children, Richard Behnke Jr., Laura Behnke,

and Susan Sutton; her brother, Leonard Perry; ten grandchildren; and

thirteen great-grandchildren. Joan’s love for her family was

endless, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

A woman of deep faith, Joan was a devoted Christian whose

kindness, strength, and unwavering belief in God guided her

throughout her life. Her legacy of love and devotion will live on in

the hearts of all who knew her.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025 beginning at 11:00 a.m.

with Pastor Fred Jordan officiating. Burial to follow at Beal Memorial Cemetery

(316  N.W. Beal Parkway Fort Walton Beach Florida 32548). The family will receive friends

on Friday, March 14, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in

Joan’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org,

or a charity of your choice.

How do you leave a condolence. I’ve erased this so many times. I do not know how to leave words of comfort to family who have lost such a beautiful soul. I know one day we will all be united again, and I know she is with my dad and my grandpa, and that’s what gives me a little comfort.
