Joe & Seb Holloway

July 25, 1936~July 24, 2021

Joseph Franklin Holloway born July 25, 1936 and his loving wife Selva Jean Corbin Holloway born October 8, 1938 of Baker, Fl both went to be with their lord and savior Jesus Christ within 43 hours of each other. Joe passed away on Saturday July 24th at the age of 84 and Seb passed away on Monday July 26th at the age of 82. A beautiful couple with a beautiful love story. They met 71 years ago and were married for 64 years. They were a popular couple at Baker school back in the day, where Joe was a Baker Gator quarterback and Seb was a Baker Gator cheerleader and also homecoming Queen. They sealed their love for each other on June 29, 1957 at a little white baptist church in Holt, Fl that is still standing. Joe worked on Eglin AFB for 50 years. He retired as a range supervisor on the western ranges performing all aspects of range missions. Seb was a homemaker. They made their home in Baker where their love continued to grow by welcoming their only child, a daughter Gloria Holloway Fortner. Joe was hoping for a boy but instead they had a girl, and because of that girl there was much more joy to come from welcoming grandkids and great-grandkids. Joe and Seb were preceded in death by their parents Joseph Virgil and Nancy Isabel Holloway and Hustus and Velma Corbin. Joe was also preceded in death by his siblings Tommy Holloway, Bob Holloway and Mary Jo Holloway. Seb is survived by one brother Randall Corbin. They are also survived by Gloria Holloway Fortner and husband Greg. A grandson Blake Fortner and wife Misty and a granddaughter Brittany Day and husband Charlie and 2 great grandchildren Gavin and Payton Fortner. They are also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins all who were very special to them. The family would like to say a special thank you to Covenant Hospice for the wonderful care that was given to Joe and Seb. You were all angels and we will never forget you. There will be a celebration of life for this beautiful couple on Monday August 9, 2021 at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Baker, Fl. Visitation will be from 1 o’clock to 3 o’clock in the afternoon with funeral to follow. Burial will be at Pyron Chapel in Baker, Fl.

There could be a lot said, but you were such wonderful daughter to your parents…. Your parents were great models of Christians in the community… Even where they went..My prayers have been with you from the beginning and will continue…My Father God knows the hurt of having a loved one taken in death…But the Same Father God knows what it is to have them resurrected….Pray God comfort you until all meet on the Glory Shore. Just remember that the God and his Son, Jesus are touch by the feeling of your grief.. Holy Spirit dwell with you from now on to comfort you and be the missing parents..

This year has been so tough on our family and relations (Corbin,etc.). This is so tough and I don’t think you’re ever really ready for it, although you know it’s coming. My memories are super sweet visiting the Holloways growing up. I adore you Gloria. Our family had the most purist and deepest love and in will continue for generations. We are praying for peace and the hope Uncle Joe and Aunt Seb shined upon us all. We love you. Teresa Corbin Friend
