John Press Morris

John Press Morris, 72, of Crestview, FL, passed away peacefully on 29 March 2025. Born on 27 December 1952 in Loxley, AL, John enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1972 as a tactical aircraft maintenance technician. Throughout his service he acquired eight Oak Leaf Clusters, a multitude of ribbons for tremendous service and a bronze star.

John spent 813 days overseas, with a vast amount of time spent in Vietnam. After 20 years of service, 1992, John retired honorably in Fort Walton Beach, Fl and continued to work an additional 20 years as a truck driver, ultimately joining the million-mile club. In 1984, John met the love of his life and his three beautiful baby boys and eventually became a grandfather to six, and a great grandfather to three.

John is survived by his wife, Barbara Morris, his three sons, Patrick, Sean and Marc Walsh, his nephew, Eddie Morris, his niece Suzanne Trawick and all his grandbabies. John will be reunited in Heaven with his parents, Katherine and Otis and his two brothers, Thomas and Clarence. John loved fishing, working on his truck, and rooting for the University of Alabama in any sport. John was stubborn but built a life full of love and sacrificed everything for this country and his family. A man full of life, a man willing to lay down his life and a man who would give anything for the people he loved.

John’s viewing will be at 10:00 am Friday, 04 April 2025 followed by service at 11am at Brackney Funeral Service Chapel in Crestview, FL. The service will be ministered by John’s bonus child, Patrick Waters.
