John Thomas Sollers

John Thomas Sollers of Crestview, Florida unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, May 18^th, 2025.  He was 61 years of age.  John was born in Atlanta, Georgia to Otha Earl Sollers and Betty Rene Welch Sollers on January 17^th, 1964.

John was one of the nicest men and was loved by all.  He was a longtime certified auto mechanic (Mack’s Auto Tech and Vettes Unlimited) and was very good at his trade, which he called a “hobby” and not an occupation.  Anyone who had an automobile problem, John, was the one to ask for advice.  John was very dedicated to his family and friends.  You could always count on him.

John is preceded in death by his brother, Rick Sollers; his sister, Renee` Kirkwood; his mother, Betty Welch Sollers and his father, Otha Earl Sollers. Also preceded in death by his best, lifelong friend, Robert J Batson.

John leaves behind his wife, Kimberly Sollers (McWilliams); sister, Carole Burleson (Rusty); sister, Merrie Sollers-Stanek; sons, Timothy J (TJ) Sollers and Austin Parrish; daughters, Ashley Parrish and Victoria Parrish and a stepson, Curtiss Malicoat, Jr. (Rachel) along with 2 precious grandchildren, Sophia Malicoat (3 yrs) and Brent Malicoat (10 days).  Also leaving behind numerous nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and great nephews.

John was also known as: Shorty, Johnny, JT, Dad and Pawpaw.  He was a “car” guy and there was not much that John did not know about all makes and models of cars.  He loved to fish, the 70’s and early 80’s (he was stuck in time), talk with friends, always had the television on car (mechanic) programs or history, attending auto races and car shows.  He loved people of every kind.  He hardly ever met a stranger.  His children meant the world to him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 14^th, 2025, from 2pm – 4pm at Brackney Funeral Services, 480 E James Lee Blvd, Crestview, FL  32539
