Joseph ( Joe) Amon Guilford, age 62, of Laurel Hill, Florida passed away peacefully on Monday, June 9, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. A dedicated dump truck driver and hardworking member of the Mohawk Valley. Joe was known for his strong work ethic, steady presence, and unwavering commitment to his family and community.

Born on September 12, 1962 in Fort Walton Beach, Florida to then grow up in Laurel Hill where he attended school. Joe grew up with a passion for Tonka Toys, as a child his favorite thing was to sit and play with his trucks, build roads and pretend to be moving dirt and working then when he become an adult he made a living with much larger Tonka Trucks. He spent over 20 years behind the wheel, hauling everything from gravel to grit with pride and precision. To him, every load was more than a job — it was a way to provide for those he loved.

He was a loyal friend, a loving father, a fun sibling, and a man who never hesitated to lend a hand or share a laugh. Whether he was telling stories from work, fixing up his truck, or enjoying a quiet evening at home, Joe brought warmth and dependability wherever he went. He loved his coworkers like family and the feeling was mutual.

Joe loved being outdoors, camping and fishing with family and friends.

Joe is preceded in death by his father, Willard Guilford, his mother, Sharon Crawford, his step-father, Lonnie Crawford, his brother, Lonnie Ray Crawford Jr., his sisters, Nancy Ganey Newman and Tina Keldie.

Joe is survived by his son, Joseph Guilford (Erika), his two brothers, Thomas Wills (Nancy) and Eugene Crawford, his four sisters, Georgia Baggett (W.A.), Cynthia Burkett, Sandy McCurley (Frank) and Debby  Shoun (Jim) along with numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews all of which he referred to as “his babies”.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025 beginning at 6:00 p.m. the Chapel of Brackney Funeral Service with Pastor Mike McVay officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 14, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 at the funeral home. Friends, family, and coworkers are invited to attend and share their memories of a life well lived and a man well loved.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered — not just for the miles he drove, but for the lives he touched along the way.

Joey had the biggest ❤️and the biggest personality…he was always sooo sweet to me and my children…such a sweet cousin🥰. I pray his family has peace knowing he is with the Lord now🙏
