Katherine “Kathy” McSwain McCall 71, of Dorcas, Florida passed away on March 30, 2025 peacefully at home with family at her side. Kathy was born on August 25, 1953 in Bremerton, Washington to Charles and Edna McSwain. She moved here in 2007 from Pensacola, Florida and has been a resident ever since.
Kathy was a retired Interpreter for the Deaf in Escambia and Walton Schools. She was also a Floral Designer who was an avid crafter, plant lover and animal enthusiast.
Kathy is preceded by her parents, Charles H. and Edna McDonald McSwain.
Kathy is survived by her son, Charles Alexander McCall, her son in law, Bryan Martinez, her daughter, Marcella Ann Martinez and her two granddogs, Artemis Prime and Iris Jenkins.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025 beginning at 4:00 p.m. at Dorcas Baptist Church with Pastor Chris Laster officiating. Burial to follow at Dorcas Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 3, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Brackney Funeral Service Chapel.

Kathy was so sweet woman who was interpreter for me in Pensacola State College on Tuesdays and Thursdays night. I never forgot her smile and talk. She always talk about his son often. I never forgot that she was trying to encourage me to success in the future. Miss her and praying for her family to loss that lady who love her family.

Kathy was one of my favorite interpreters in elementary school. She was kind, caring, and one of the sweetest people I have ever met. She will be missed dearly.
