Paul Christopher (Chris) Harrison, 56, of Laurel Hill, FL passed away January 30, 2024, surrounded by his family after battling with esophageal cancer. Chris fought for 21 months before he was called home.
Chris was born in Memphis, Tennessee, to Jack and Mary Harrison on January 26, 1968. Chris joined the US Coast Guard in 1987 and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer second class in 2009. After retirement, he found his dream job in the oil industry with Shell. He started out as a technician and with his hard work and dedication he went on to become an Operation Maintenance Coordinator (OMC). During this time, he completed a bachelor’s degree of Professional Studies Technology Management. He then went on to obtain a master’s degree of Science in Management.
Chris met the love of his life, Tammy, at his second duty station in Grand Isle, LA. They married the 29th of November in 1991 after three months in Crestview, FL. Throughout their marriage, Chris and Tammy have overcome numerous hardships. Chris enjoyed indulging Tammy whenever possible, while also aggravating her. They share an eternal affection.
Being a kind and dependable father and friend was of the utmost importance to Chris. He certainly did not disappoint when it came to wholeheartedly loving his friends and family. When Chris became a “little” pawpaw to Langston and Channing, he was filled with pride and joy. One of Chris’ greatest joys was seeing his children succeed in their chosen careers.
