Riky Dean Edwards Sr.72, of Crestview, Florida passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 peacefully at home with family at his side.

Riky was born on April 10, 1952 in Galesburg, Illinois to Clyde and Mary Olson. After moving here 30 years ago from DeFuniak Springs, Florida Riky has been a resident of Crestview ever since. Riky was a retired veteran of the United States Army serving 20 years in Vietnam, who loved military life. He was a Chaplains Assistant in the United States Army and a faithful member of Calvary United Church.

Riky is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Mary Olson, his sister, Debbie Olson, his daughter, Rachel Ann Edwards Brown and his grandson, Donald William Russell III.

Riky is survived by his wife of fifty years, Margie A. Edwards, his two children, Riky Dean Edwards Jr. (Candance) Crestview and Melinda Miller (Brandan) Crestview, his two brothers, Eric Olson (Kay) Nashville, Tennessee and Merle Olson (Rachelle) Olson Watoga, Illinois and seven very special grandchildren who are loved alot, Micheal, Duncan, Kirstie, AshLeigh, Konnor, Cameron and Andi.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024 beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary United with Brother Grady O’Neal and Brother Anthony McGriff officiating. Burial to follow at Live Oak Park Memorial Cemetery in Crestview, Florida. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 6, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Calvary United.

Prayers for the family. I met him once when I went to his home with my coworker Riky ( his son). He was a good man.

Riky was certainly an asset for the church. He was great at fundraising! I know he will be deeply missed by family and friends.
