Ronald E. Meier of Crestview, FL unexpectedly passed away in Fort Walton Beach, FL at the age of 81. He was born in Dayton, OH to Eugene E. Meier and Mildred Franz on August 9, 1938. He was a USAF veteran of 26 years and served in the Vietnam Conflict. He later served as a contractor in the local area with Lockheed-Martin and DS2 until his retirement in 2008. Ronald was a graduate of Northwest Florida College. A loving husband, brother, father, and grandfather he is survived by his wife June S. Meier of Crestview, FL, brothers Gerald Spaeth of Eaton, IN, Terry Spaeth of Vandalia OH, and Edward Spaeth of Xenia, OH, sisters Gigi Bartolomeo of Hodges, SC, and Suse Greenstone of La Plata, Maryland. Father of Denise C. Meier of Crestview, FL, April L. Meier of Crestview, FL (owner of Pawsitively Scrumptious Pet supply), Jeffery E. Meier of Crestview, FL, and Mary A. Blasberg of Crestview, FL. He was grandfather to Krista Johnston, Diana Johnston, Cheri Johnston, Amber Blake, Jeremy Blasberg, Kalyn Simone, Nicholas Torres, and Isabella Meier. He also was a great-grandfather with 8 great-grandchildren. Prior to his retirement from contracting he was bestowed with the honor of having Bldg. 455 on Eglin AFB, FL named for him. Family will accept friends and family at 1PM with Memorial service at 2PM to be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020 in Warrior’s Hall 201 Stillwell Blvd, Crestview FL 32536. Light refreshments will be provided after the service. Memorial services will be provided by Brackney Funeral Service of Crestview FL.
