Shirley McSwain Yarbrough
Shirley lost her fight with Pancreatic Cancer on August 8, 2020. Shirley was born on August 2, 1936 to Daniel “Dan†and Alice McSwain. She was 84 years old at the time of her passing.
Shirley was a lifelong resident of Crestview area. She was a graduate of Baker High School class of 1955. Most of Shirley’s working years, she worked as a C.N.A. at the area hospitals. Shirley’s last job was in the Distribution Room at North West Florida Daily News, she worked there for 10 years before retiring.
Shirley loved Gospel, Country, and Bluegrass music. Going to concerts was her passion. Shirley never met a stranger. If you were at the same place that Shirley was and you did not know her, you knew her when you left. Shirley also loved to travel.
Shirley is preceded in death by an infant son, Sherman Michael Nichols, Her husband, Noah Yarbrough and both her parents.
Shirley is survived by her son, William “Bruce†Nichols (Joann), her sister Elsie Smith-Brown. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
Services will be held Wednesday, August 12, 2020, from the Chapel of Brackney Funeral Service, Crestview. Burial to follow at Holt Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, from 1 to 2 pm.
