Theresa Annette Creel

March 01, 1948~March 26, 2025

Theresa Creel, 77, of Laurel Hill, peacefully passed away on March 26, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 1, 1948, to Jim and Thelma Moore of Laurel Hill, where she was raised with strong values of faith, kindness, and love.

A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Theresa was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gloy Creel, Jr. She is survived by her children, Suzanne (David) and Mike (Megan), who will forever cherish her unwavering love and guidance. Her greatest joy was found in her three grandchildren—Lane, Brooke, and Connor—whom she adored beyond measure. She is also survived by her brother, Denny Moore (Lois) of Florala, Alabama, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Theresa dedicated her life to her family as a homemaker, always creating a warm and welcoming home. She had a passion for cooking and baking, filling her home with the comforting aroma of homemade meals and sweet treats. Whether it was a warm loaf of banana-nut bread, a perfectly baked cobbler, or a hearty Southern supper, she took great joy in nourishing those she loved.

She was also known for her crafty hands and creative spirit, spending countless hours quilting, crocheting, and crafting beautiful handmade treasures for family and friends. However, despite her gentle nature, she had a feisty side—especially when it came to unwelcome visitors. Armed with her son’s BB gun, she kept the perimeter of house safe from pesky lizards, taking aim with a precision that always brought laughter to those who witnessed it.

More than anything, Theresa was an example of steadfast faith, a woman of deep devotion who lived to share Christ’s love. She prayed earnestly for those around her, offering comfort and encouragement to all who knew her.

Her gentle spirit, warm heart, and fierce love for her family will be deeply missed, but her legacy of faith and kindness will continue in the hearts of those she touched.

A celebration of Theresa’s life will be held at Woodlawn Baptist Church on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. Visitation will be held at 5pm with the service to follow at 6pm.

Of course anyone who knew her has no doubt where she is now. Sad to hear of her passing but grateful for the legacy she left behind. We shared wonderful childhood memories when I stayed with them when we were kids. Loved her parents dearly, especially her dad. We had a special relationship. She joins many in her family that went on before her including her soulmate and husband. Prayers for the family.

Teresa was a kind and Godly woman. We went to school together at Laurel Hill School. I thought she was much like her mother who used to cut my hair. They both had such a gentle and loving spirit. I must admit, I share her dislike of lizards. She will be missed by family and friends but her legacy will carry on. Loving prayers for all the family.

Theresa was a dear and loving cousin. I loved her like a sister. I have so many happy memories of times spent together in childhood while visiting my grandparents and going to family reunions. She was such a wonderful family historian. Her knowledge will be sorely missed. She was so sweet to keep up with everyone and offer encouragement through life’s trials. She was so stoical through her cancer journey and continued to encourage others and show love through it all. She will be missed so vey much.

Praying for peace and comfort for your family. Theresas was an inspiration and had such faith. I enjoyed our visits by way of text. I remember how much fun we had growing up going to church near the family home and going to visit Grandpa who lived with them. I am blessed to have those sweet memories.
