I had known Brenda for the 22 years that she worked at Shoal Creek. She was such a compassionate person, always wanting the best for the patients. She headed up many fund raisers for the residents during each year so they could enjoy a nice Christmas party and gifts. She also wanted the patients to feel at home, decorating the facility throughout the years, especially at Christmas, putting up trees inside and outside. Brenda was the “go to” for remembering past residents and staff and details long forgotten. She will be greatly missed, as will her thoughtfulness for others.

I met Brenda when I first started Shoal Creek back in 2003. She was one of the first friends I had here and we have been close every since! She was the sweetest kindest person I have ever had the pleasure of knowing! I know she is having a huge party with all her loved ones that went before her! My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends! I’m going to miss you so much Brenda Lou but I know I will see you again! Rest in paradise my friend!

Brenda was one of the most beautiful souls I’ve ever had the luxury of meeting. She loved hard, and purely. She cared for her residents as if they were family, always wanting the best of everything for them. Whenever a staff member was facing difficult times, it was Brenda who was forming a collection and fundraiser for them, even throughout her own hardships, she was always thinking of everyone else first. That’s just the kind of beautiful that she was.I love you my friend and will miss you incredibly. Until we hug again, rest peacefully in the heavens you so loved.

Brenda Harris was a light in the world and will always be remembered by me, we shared a lot, I saw her everyday at work ,and even after as she encouraged even my own mother on 2 stays at the creek. This lady even tho she lost her husband listened and comforted me when my husband was diagnosed with throat cancer, her zany costumes , Angel devil, pb&j, and many more she was one hell of a lady and always professional! She loved the creek so much because her own mother was a nurse there! We will see her in heaven ! She is never really gone as she lives on in our memories, for as long as a person is remembered they r never really gone!!! I am sick with something or would have been there!!!! Love sent to all!
