Brenda Faye Wilkins, 74, of Crestview, FL passed away after a lengthy illness on February 1, 2023. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, John Wilkins, daughters Cheryl Potter (Steven), Angie Wilkins and is predeceased by her son Mark Wilkins.  She is additionally survived by her sister Sandy Sellers (George) and grandchildren Riley Potter, Tyler Potter, Bryonna Hollet (Corey) and Lexi Potter.  Additional family includes mother- in- law Annis Wilkins and brothers-in-law Ronnie Wilkins (Cathy) and Donny Wilkins (Wendy), and many loving nieces and nephews.

 

Brenda was a loving wife, mother, and Nana.  She was deeply devoted to caring for her family and always put their well-being before her own.  She had the most welcoming and open home, and no one definitely went without when she was around.  She had an unconditional love for her husband, and they had a loving and humorous marriage.  She loved being involved in her grandchildren’s lives and was always pleased to celebrate their accomplishments.

 

She loved reading design and decorating magazines and was skilled at decorating on a budget.  Especially when she got together with her cherished friend Gail.  The two of them could make something out of nothing.  Her latest design project was with her husband John.  They designed and built a cabin together in Sopchoppy, FL on the Ochlocknee River.  She loved spending time there with her husband, family and friends.

 

While she loved all her family and friends, she had a close bond with her sister Sandy.  Over the years they enjoyed visiting and drinking numerous cups of coffee together.  As life got busier and the visits were harder to make, they faithfully stayed in touch by phone, sometimes talking three times a day!  A closer bond has never been seen and they will surely be together again one day.

 

A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 6, 2023, beginning at 2:00 p.m., from the Chapel of Brackney Funeral Service, with Pastor Nathan Fort officiating. Burial to follow at Dorcas Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, February 6, 2023 from 1 – 2 pm at the funeral home.
