Cleo Worley

February 01, 1934~April 05, 2023

Cleo Worley, born February 1, 1934, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2023 following a long beautiful life. Cleo was born and raised in Hacoda (“Hocadar” as Cleo would say), Alabama as one of six children born to Clayton and Clemmie Geohagan.

With four children, nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and so many of their friends who considered her “Mom” or “Granny” it is no surprise that Cleo lived a life saturated in love. She cherished being a “Granny” and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a Preacher’s wife, and as such, fiercely loved the Lord and was strong in her faith.

Cleo is survived by her brother, Curt Geohagan, her four children, Mona Register, Cynthia Barrow (Buddy), Nova Shaffer (Jim), and Jerome Worley, as well as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Brittany Brown (Jason) and their kids, Tyson and Heidi, Kaila Shaffer (Matt Updegraff and his daughter Kelsi), Erik Register (Becca) and their two children Brycen and Easton, Jamie Shaffer (Brittney Pate and her two children Chasen and Savannah), Jayson Shaffer (Janie) and their two children Addie and Liam, Allyssa Whitehead, Anthony Bou Mechrek, and Hunter, Taylor, and Chase Worley.

Cleo is preceded in death by her husband, Daryl Worley, son in law, Mickey Register and granddaughter, Amy Register.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 7, 2023 beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Live Oak Park Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Mike McVay officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 6, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Brackney Funeral Service Chapel.

Known the whole family since I was in single digit age. Mrs Cleo Worley I’m gonna miss you my other granny. Me and her late granddaughter Amy played together as small kids and went to school together and were close friends as adults too. Me and Miss Cleo are related on the Geohagan side as well. I am gonna miss you lady. It’s your time to rest now. A second mother and second grandmother to many…no doubt you’re in Heaven with Amy and Mr.Daryl your husband and happy as a lark right now finally able to rest in peace. My heart is minus another piece but at the same time at rest because I know where your heart and soul was for sure. Love you Mrs.Cleo and once again…sure gonna miss you but you’re in good hands now. .Go rest high lady. It is well deserved.
Love Always,
Melissa A.Carroll McClellan ❤️ 💙 💜

Will miss you so very much. Reading books with me, coloring with me, singing with me and watching The Wiggles with me. I’m going to miss staying with you and sleeping with you when it was thundering and lightning. When you get to heaven tell my mom I miss her and love her. Love you very much. Aunt Cleo was a special person who I am proud to be kin to. She and all her siblings were a special family. She could have been the twin to my mother Nell Geohagan Culverhouse. Visited them often and had many good times and tons of good food. She will be missed by all her family. To her children , grandchildren and great grandchildren I pray that you all can find comfort in knowing that she is no longer sick and is completely healed of all illnesses. She is reunited with her family and oh what a special day that will be when we join them. We have such special memories that will keep her alive in our hearts. God Bless you All
