September 6, 1932 – July 4th 2022

Florene (Henry) Howze, age 89 of Baker passed from this life into eternity, Monday, July 4th, 2022.  She was born in Baker FL on September 6, 1932, to Dan Archie Henry and Molean Gillis Henry.

Florene is survived by her seven children.  Sharon Blackford (Kenneth) of Summit, MS; Barbara Hinote (Robin) Milton, FL; Carol McCall (Thad) of Chumukla, FL; Rosemary Davis (Albert) of Lockhart, AL; David Howze, Baker, FL; Glenn Howze (Judy) Baker, FL and John Mark Howze (Molly) of Baker, FL.  11 Grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.

Florene was preceded in death by Her husband of 67 years (Red) Lynn Hue Howze.   Her parents Dan Archie Henry and Molean Gillis Henry, four brothers, Chelsie, George, Albert and Archie Henry. Five Sisters Rosalean Howze, Annie Henry, Clara Moore, Lucille Scroggins and Eloise Hoffman.  One great grandchild, Caden Christopher McCall September 19, 2013, and granddaughter Cassia “Cassie” Ruth Howze September 7, 2009-May 6, 2017.

She was a faithful member of Baker Church of Christ.  Florene was a hard worker all her life, whether in the home or in the garden.  She loved her children and always wanted them all to be fed and happy.   She enjoyed the time she worked as a nurse’s aide at the Crestview Nursing home.  She enjoyed crafting and making things with her hands and giving them away. Especially her beautiful embroidery work.  She will be greatly missed!

Graveside service will be held at Aubrey Jordan Memorial Cemetery (Shady Grove) on Saturday, July 9, 2022, beginning at 10:00 a.m. with Minister Jason Hilburn officiating.
