January 24, 1970~July 31, 2022

Gwen Rhyne McDuffie, 52 of Crestview Florida passed away unexpectedly Sunday, July 31, 2022.

She leaves a huge hole in the hearts of her family and friends who were always entertained by her stories and hilarious sense of humor. Gwen could find humor in the most mundane life circumstances; this was one of her best qualities.

Gwen was born on January 24, 1970, in Leesville, Louisiana to Glenn and Pam Rhyne. She moved to Okaloosa County with her family in 1983 from Peoria, Illinois and lived here locally most of her life. Gwen was a 1988 Crestview High School graduate who loved to refurbish old furniture back to life, go fishing, singing beside her dad (since she was 18 years old) and cooking.

Gwen is survived by her husband of 20 years, William David McDuffie, her sons, Skyler Heller and Justin (Colby) Renfro, her daughters, Samantha (Garrett) Harris, Holley (Tom) McDuffie, her parents, Glen and Pam Rhyne, her brother, Jason (Crystal) Rhyne, thirteen grandchildren, Emma, Zava, Aiden, Addaline, Kaitlyn, Kyla, Hendrix, Lakota, Farrah, Harley, Breah, Raylyn and Carter, her niece, Preslee, her nephew, Jordan, her dogs, Charlie, Biscuit, Bella and Jake, her cat, Louie and close friends she has had her whole life.

A celebration of life for Gwen will be held on September 10, 2022, at the American Legion in Crestview at 6:00 p.m.

Willie, Pam and Glenn, my deepest sympathies go out to each of you and the children and grandchildren. My heart breaks for you. Gwen was my daughter’s, Rhonda’s, best friend through Jr. High and High School. When she would come home with Rhonda or spend the night, she brought with her tons of light and laughter. Never a dull moment. I was always glad to see her. I could tell you some funny things!! I was honored when she asked me, as a notary, to perform Sam’s wedding ceremony. My heart goes out to you, each and every one of her family and friends. Love to All.

Willie, I know there are no words that truly help at this time, I’m sorry. I lost Art when he was too young as well, you will eventually smile again while remembering and cry at times many years from now at a certain song or memory. Keep the love and good times close to you, it helps. Prayers
